Most people have no idea what it is like to be secluded or restrained in school, to be the parent of a child who has endured it, or to be a staff member placed in the position of using these interventions. Many are unaware that restraint and seclusion happen in New Jersey schools at all. By sharing your story, you help shed light on a practice that is often hidden or underreported and you contribute to the long overdue reforms needed to protect students across our state.
